We Tested Out 3 (budget-friendly) Sustainable Product Alternatives So You Don't Have To
Here are three #sustainable and #ecofriendly alternatives to household products that we bought, tried and reviewed.
Walnut Scrubber Sponge by Full Circle

Pros:
Priced very similar to a regular sponge
Cleans great, works exactly as well as a regular dish sponge
Made from recycled plastic and walnut shells
Free from harmful chemicals
Cons:
Smells like low-tide when you take it out of the package
Comes wrapped in plastic for some reason
Our Overall Thoughts: Highly recommend!
Extra Absorbent Cleaning Cloths by Clean Again

Pros:
Machine-Washable (survived our wash test well)
Non toxic
Ribbed surface aids cleaning power
Cons:
Despite claims it absorbs 7x its weight, we found that these are barely capable of absorbing anything
Our Overall Thoughts: This is by no means going to satisfy your paper towel needs, and will not work as an alternative. It simply is does not absorb well enough. However, it is perfectly suitable for light cleaning or perhaps as something to put dishes on while they dry.
Sugarcane Plates by Ever Spring

Pros:
Works just like a paper plate
Compostable
No added dyes
Durable and sturdy
Cons:
Slightly more expensive than typical paper plates. $4.99 for 20 plates at Target.
Our Overall Thoughts: These are pretty cool. Work just as well as normal paper plates. However, they are a tad more expensive.
